Spitfire Audio has announced the release of Textural Pads, a new free library for its proprietary VST/AU plugin LABS (freeware also).
Inspired by sci-fi soundtracks during the lockdown, Spitfire Audio developer Mark Summerell sampled a selection of instruments at his home studio — bowed and scratched bass guitar, kalimba, cello and vocals.
Combining these recordings with synths from developer Harnek Mudhar, he used bespoke granular effects to transform these sounds into otherworldly textures.
As mentioned above, Textural Pads requires LABS plugin which is also available for free. You will need an account at Spitfire Audio and their Spitfire App in order to get LABS and all the free libraries.
