Decent Samples has released Lewis E. Pyle Violin, a free sample-based library for Kontakt, SFZ and Ableton.
This library features the gorgeous sustained sound of a Pennsylvania-made violin from ca. 1895. It is available in three convenient versions: Kontakt (requires the full version of Kontakt version 5.3.1 or later), Ableton Simpler/Sampler (requires Ableton Live 9.7.1 or later), and SFZ (you can use the freeware Plogue Sforzando).
These are the main features:
- One articulation – sustain with natural bowings (meaning the bowings have not been edited out)
- Convolution reverb with reverb level knob
- Standard ADSR controls
- EQ controls
The samples were all recorded in 24-bit 48khz sample rate, also the size of the library is only 44MB. In order to download the freebie, a valid email address is required.
