SoundBytes magazine has announced the release of a free version of DDMf IIEQ Pro, an equalizer effect plugin for Windows and Mac.
Despite the fact that the name contains the word pro, SoundBytes DDMf IIEQ Pro is a stripped down light edition with fewer features. For example, the multi-track control is disabled, as well as the two-channel mode operation.
Maybe the most notable difference is that SoundBytes’ free equalizer plugin version features only six bands compared to the 24 fully parametric bands found in the full version. The differences end there, with both equalizers featuring the same 27 state-of-the-art filter types per band.
But don’t underestimate this plugin. It still has the “Butterworth” filters with variable slopes plus all the other controls found in the full version. Additionally, there’s a high-precision frequency analyzer to help you tame your mixes.
SB DDMf IIEQ Pro is adjusted for digital artifacts at high frequencies and it offers seven Butterworth filter types with variable slopes from 6 to 60 dB/oct. Its developer announces a very low CPU consumption yet very high sound quality. It also includes a high precision frequency analyzer (pre/post) with zoom and scroll functionality.
