Kushview has announced that its Roboverb experimental reverb plugin is now available for free.

Kushview’s Roboverb is advertised as a one of a kind plugin unlike any other reverb, intended to allow you to stand out in a crowd. Going further, we find out that is “equipped with versatility to replace your current go-to reverb, Roboverb also offers a set of switches capable of flipping your project on it’s ear”.

Roboverb sports usual parameters and knobs like any other reverb plugin, such as wet, dry, room size, damping and width. The similarities end here, because next we have a “Chambers” module filled with 12 switches disposed in three rows. These switches add a sort of metallic room and “robotize” the sound, each row with its own characteristics. Combining the switches is fun, you can achieve various effects, for example a strange dub delay, or a metallic resonance etc.

The GUI in all its splendor; on the right hand you can see the switches that do all the job. Keep in mind that this picture is zoomed, the GUI is small, really small for today’s standards.

Roboverb is undoubtedly unique, and I think is mainly suitable for experiments and the creation of sound effects. Because is coloring the sound in an obvious way, I don’t see it as you reverb for everyday use, but it deserves attention, especially that promises to be a perfect tool to manipulate the sound, to “metallize” it, if I am allowed.

Roboverb is available for anyone who subscribes to Kushview’s newsletter. VST/VST3/AU, 32- and 63-bit versions for both Windows and Mac users. Once you subscribe, after email confirmation, you will have the links of the plugin installer (Mac & Windows) delivered straight to your inbox.
