SuperflyDSP releases Lost-Sampler, a free digital Lofi effect plugin for Windows and macOS.
Developed at the end of the 20th century, digital memory is the most recent medium used for music reproduction. The first samplers used low bit-depth digital memory and low sample rate digital-analog converter.
Lost-Sampler is intended to track down the distortion of these first samplers, through their main digital artifacts like jitter, subsampling, and bit crushing. The plugin can be used mainly on instruments (like guitar, vocals, or keyboards), but also on stem tracks like drums or stacked chords.
Good to know, with the bit crusher section, the more the input signal amplitude is large, the less there is distortion. Conversely in the subsampling section, higher frequency content lead to frequency foldback (aliasing).
Lost-Sampler is available in VST3 & AU plugin versions for digital audio workstations on Windows and macOS.
