audiolatry has announced the release of Drum8, a free drum machine plugin for DAWs and other plugin host software running on Windows and macOS.
Drum8 is a collaboration between audiolatry (software development) and Cool WAV (sound design). Inside are 40 kits for Hip Hop, Trap, Pop, Lo-fi, EDM, etc – 320 sounds in total, including kicks, snares, claps, toms, hi-hats (closed & open), percussion, cymbals, fx, and more.
The interface comes with global controls (gain, lowpass filter, room reverb), individual controls per sample (gain, attack, pan, stereo channel output), and an 8-pad configuration.
Two analog drum machines and drum modeling software were used, as well as an array of hardware and software effects.
Drum8 is a virtual plugin for Windows (VST/VST3) and macOS (VST/VST3/AU, El Capitan to Mojave, NOT compatible with Catalina and up).
