Spitfire Audio has released LA Atmos, a new free expansion library for their LABS freeware virtual instrument plugin for Windows and macOS.
As the name suggests, LA Atmos contains field recordings, ambiance, and sound textures captured from the city of Los Angeles.
Recorded on the streets of Los Angeles by the team behind the non-profit LA radio station, dublab, these unique textures capture the beating heart of the city.
LA Atmos features a range of field recordings, inspired by the techniques of musique concrète — from crickets and crowds to sirens and helicopters — warped and manipulated to create both melodic and percussive soundscapes, complete with a range of in-built custom controls.
LA Atmos requires LABS, the Spitfire Audio’s proprietary instrument plugin for free libraries. It can be downloaded for free and is available in VST, AU and AAX formats for DAWs on Windows and macOS. A Spitfire account is also required.
