Samples From Mars has announced the release of Kawaii Dreams From Mars, a free for a limited time sample pack featuring iconic Kawaii keyboards.
Kawaii Dreams From Mars is a collection of preset and custom patches from three Kawaii keyboards: the K1, K3, and GB-2 Session Trainer.
These wavetable synths have an inherent harmonic distortion from the era’s conversion technology that gives them a ton of character not possible from analog oscillators (and not captured on the recent plugins that have surfaced).
Samples From Mars sampled a mix of era-defining preset patches and custom patches. Think: orchestral, cinematic, and iconic rave vibes.
With the launch of this pack, Samples From Mars also launched a competition. Compose an original song using only the sample pack for non-drum sounds, and they’ll award Reverb.com gift certificates to their three favorites! More information can be found on the product page.
The sample pack contains 15 extensively multi-sampled patches organized into 4 categories, but also presets for Ableton, Kontakt, Logic EXS24, Reason, FL Studio, & SFZ. There are 928 24-bit WAV samples in total, weighing in at 1.73 GB (unzipped size).
This pack is available for free until Friday, July 2nd at 12 PM ET via Samples From Mars.
