Spitfire Audio has announced the release of LABS Lap Steel, a brand new sample-based library for their freeware virtual plugin.
Lap Steel features sound samples performed and recorded by composer and producer Harpal Mudhar. These inspiring textures and plucks have been created using a vintage lap steel guitar run through delays and reverb, taking the instrument beyond its traditional country and bluegrass leanings.
Lap Steel can be used alongside organic and electronic elements as an interesting alternative to the guitar.
This library works within LABS, a free VST/AU instrument plugin created by Spitfire Audio. LABS already hosts a series of free and unusual instruments, made by musicians and sampling experts in London.
You will be prompted to download the Spitfire Audio app, then you will log in using your Spitfire username and password. From there you can select LABS and install the free libraries you prefer. There are already over 30 free amazing virtual instruments there.
LABS is available in VST/AU/AAX plugin versions for Windows and macOS.
