Navi Retlav Studio has teamed up with Reason Studios, to create a Halloween gift for musicians around the world. They have made 3 exclusive free packs of sounds and samples available for download on the Reason Studios Blog.
The free packs are:
Halloween Monsters – 120 scary samples designed from sounds of tomato smashing, breaking corn and fridge noises as a drone. Plus a theremin.
Japanese Horror Castle – a free pack for Reason 11 Suite and Friktion featuring sounds inspired by Grindhouse movies as well as all the classic Kung Fu and Shaolin films.
Cinematic Gamescapes – 10 Reason patches inspired by some of Adrian’s (Navi Retlav owner) favorite video game soundtracks: Half Life, Final Fantasy and DOOM Eternal.
All these packs include Reason 11 Suite patches (a big portion of them will also work in older versions of Reason DAW), loops/previews, and a demo song. The Halloween Monsters pack is extra special since it also contains 120 WAV samples of smashing tomatoes, breaking corn, and fridge noises that the author used for scary sound design. On the flip-side, the Japanese Horror Castle page also includes a really interesting article about their sound design work.
Combine these samples with free Convology XT IR convolution reverb plugin and create some really scary ambiance.
