Wolno Is a Free Kontakt Instrument Featuring Half-Speed Piano Samples

Felt Instruments has released Wolno, a free Kontakt instrument featuring a set of half-speed piano samples, taken from Lekko, commercial upright piano library.

It was recorded to worn tape using an Uher portable tape recorder, then played back at half-speed for some slow-motion wobble and vibe. The result is a lo-fi sound perfect to add a nice texture to your music.

Some people say everything tastes better when you slow down a little. This patch was created using a technique where the original material was recorded onto tape and then played back at half speed.

The result? The attacks are softened, the sustains extended. The sound is darker, dusty and wobbly. The slower you play it, the more prominent the effect is.

    Features:

    • Half-speed piano sustains with 5x RR (repetition samples) per sampled note.
    • Key release samples, recorded across the entire keyboard (5xRR).
    • 165MB (ncw loseless compression, 300MB original content). All samples recorded at 96kHz. Presented at 24 bit, 48kHz.
    • Beautiful interface inspired by 20th-century avant-garde design.
    • Individually watermarked to you.
    • Download via the Pulse app.

Wolno requires a full version of Kontakt 5.8.1 and above. It doesn’t work in the free Kontakt Player.
