In this video, I’m going to go over the basics of music theory which I think apply to music production. I’m skipping over some of the fundamentals which I don’t think apply to making music in a DAW. Specifically, I’m skipping over learning to read and write music.
When it comes to production, it’s important to understand all the core concepts, but you shouldn’t need to implement them in the same way that you would if you were learning to play an instrument, and needed to read sheet music.
I’ve condensed all the basic music theory which I think all music producers need to know into about a 15 minute video. I’ll go into more detail on certain topics more in the future. I hope you find the video helpful!
