    Introduction to Synthesis and Sound Design Tutorial Part 2

    Last week, I released part 1 of a short video series for producers interested in learning the fundamentals of sound design. If you want to be able to create your own sounds from scratch, it’s very important to have a fundamental understanding of all the elements covered in this video series.

    I showed you some basic wave shapes and what they sound like. I also showed you some common functions that are universal to most synths no matter what type of synthesizer you’re using.

    This week, we’re taking it a step further, and learning about some different types of synthesis and synths. Specifically, I’m going to give you a basic understanding of Additive, Subtractive, FM, and Wavetable synthesis (including examples).
