FREE Middle Eastern Library for NI Kontakt

TAQSIM has announced the release of a free Middle Eastern library for Kontakt, faithfully recreating the characteristic sounds found in Turkish music, Turbo-Folk, Balkan Ethno, and many other similar styles.

TAQSIM says about its instrument that is fully-playable and features musical instruments and synth sounds used by keyboard players in both live and studio settings for Arabic, Armenian, Balkan, Greek, Persian and Turkish music. Also, it features the ability to alter the quarter tones on the front panel of the instrument.

Those from Middle East and even Eastern Europe will recognize the Turkish Vibrato Duduk, the used & abused Balkanic Synth Flute, an Arabic Garmon Reed, the guitar heard in Albanian & Serbian party music, the saxophone used in Bulgarian Chalga, as well as many other sounds that shape the folk music in this part of the world. Below is a video with some examples.

TAQSIM Free Middle Eastern library requires a full version of Native Instruments Kontakt (Kontakt Player will load it in demo mode).

And since you are on their website, don’t forget to take a look at the other freebies, some cool Caucasian Dhol loops and Balkan leads for NI FM8 synth.
