Performance Samples has announced the release of River Harp, a free library for Native Instruments Kontakt featuring orchestral harp textures.
River Harp was recorded in a hall and its intent is to provide organic movement and color in a minimal or underscore setting. It serves as a delicate supplement to River Piano, a commercial library by same developers.
Here are the main characteristics of River Harp:
- Orchestral harp recorded in situ (to the left and back);
- Five texture patches and one glissandi patch;
- Multiple dynamics (except on some of the glissandi samples);
- Recorded in a hall with 2 mic positions (close and far);
- Minimal noise reduction.
The samples were recorded in 48kHz/24bit, NCW-compressed up to a library of just 1.89GB. River Harp works with a full version of NI Kontakt 5.5.1 and above (full, retail version of Kontakt required). The download goes through Continuata, an sorfware app that lets you pause and resume.
