Marco Scherer has announced the release of Röhrich, a free tube synthesizer that works within Steinberg’s HALion 6, HALionSonic 3 and HALion SE3 (free) VST workstations.

Marco says his synth is capable of serious damage and destruction, also is suitable for a wide range of modern music styles. Röhrich has been specifically made for the German BEAT Magazine and is hosted on their Studiodrive website, as well as the latest Beat magazine issue where it is included. To get it for free at Studiodrive, you will have to create an account first. This also gives you access to their plethora of freebies such as instruments, effects and sample-based libraries.

As I mentioned before, Röhrich works within Steinberg’s HALion SE3, a free & stripped-down version of HALion Sonic 3. If you own HALion 6, HALion Sonic 3 or SE3, skip this first step. Otherwise, download a free copy of HALion Sonic SE3 and install it. Download SE3 here: http://www.steinberg.net/en/landing_pages/halion_sonic_se_3/. Then open the Library Manager folder and drag the “beat_roehrich.vstsound” file onto the Library Manager application (C:\Program Files\Steinberg\HALion Library Manager). Next step, start HALion standalone or plugin and click on “All Instrument Sets”, where you can select Röhrich now and its presets.

And here is a video showing Röhrich in action (is in German, but you get the idea).

The instrument is compatible with VST/VST3 (Windows) and VST3/AU (macOS) hosts.

More info and download at Studiodrive website.
