Synsonic Instruments has announced the release of BD-808, a free bass drum VST/AU plugin for Windows and Mac.
But not any bass drum sound, as you probably figured out, BD-808 is primarily designed for creating 808-style bass drums. The underlying signal processing is based on a detailed analysis of the original 808 bass drum circuit. But with the “MIDI Sync” enabled, BD-808 turns into a bass synthesizer, allowing you to create trap basslines or heavy hip hop subs, to name a few applications.
Originally the 808 Bass Drum has the following parameters for sound shaping:
Accent: Strength of the drum sound
Level: Output level
Decay: Duration of the drum sound
Tone: Amount of attack-clickAdditionally, the Synsonic Instruments BD-808 offers the following useful sound shaping possibilities:
Tune: Tuning in halftones
Fine: Tuning in cents
LongDecay: Extends decay range
MidiSync-Tune: Tune depends on played Midi-Note
MidiSync-Accent: Accent depends on Velocity of played Midi-Note
BD-808 free bass drum VST/AU plugin comes with MIDI learn function, meaning you can assign any parameter of it to any MIDI controller.

this plugin is amazing but it does not have a glide function and I haven’t been able to find a workaround, it is otherwise a fantastic plugin
Agreed, glide or pitch bend would be real nice.
