With the release of VHS 808 free sample library, Past To Future Samples has pushed the sampling to a new (hipster) level.
Just when we thought we’ve seen it all, Past To Future Samples brings some excitement with its Roland 808 drums sampled through tape. But not just any (cassette) tape, this is already used and abused, we speak here about the tape of an old videocassette recorder (VCR). See the video below and get introduced into the crunchy lo-fi 80’s vibes:
VHS 808 is offered as Kontakt instrument with lots of cool effects to make your own sound. For those who don’t own a full copy of Native Instruments Kontakt, there’s still hope. The author has also added the WAV files, so you can load the drums into your favorite sampler and create beats.
VHS 808 is available via Gumroad, you can either enter “0” in the price field and download it for free, or put any amount to support the author’s future projects.
