Krakli has announced the release of KR5, a free drum machine VST instrument for Windows (32-bit VST2).
For the first time ever Krakli has created a drum machine… Triggered by its own sequencer or via MIDI or just played via the pads KR5 has 5 channels of flexible drum synthesis.
Don’t expect TR909 or 808 clones here, it is Krakli after all!
KR5 free drum machine VST features 5 drum pads, each with its own MIDI channel. To have full control, you can easily link them to your MIDI controller using the “Last used > Link to controller” functionality in FL Studio. Also, you can use the inbuilt sequencer with four tracks, a simple way to create rhythms on the fly. The pad near sequencer is a start/stop button and can be assigned to a MIDI controller too.
The sound of KR5 is made entirely from drum synthesis (no samples). To create the tone of each sound, you have some parameters, such as pitch, harm, drive, ring, shrill, width, etc. You can adjust the tone and global noise levels, as well as an in-depth noise tuning including tone, room and time parameters.
KR5’s effects module contains a simple reverb and a tempo synced echo processor. The mixer lets you control the FX amount, volume and panning for each of the five drum tracks.
This free drum machine VST comes with 17 factory drum kits. But what’s more important, you can save/load patch and bank, so you can create your own library.
KR5 is available for free and instant download at Krakli (no registration required/ 3.86MB compressed ZIP file).
