Every day I try to bring you the hottest news, but it happens to overlook a few, so I decided to write an article every Sunday that should comprise what happened during the week. This week I will write about some interesting plugins, libraries of samples and discounts. Here we go…

First, a new version (1.0.5) of the freeware DeePanpot have been released, solving a problem with noise when booting plugin. DeePanpot is a little channel strip utility for Windows and Mac OSX which controls the pan of the stereo source (not the balance) and adds Haas Effect to reproduce a more realistic pan. DeePanpot 1.0.5 is available for free at Dotec-Audio, in 32-bit and 64-bit versions for Windows (VST) and Mac OSX (VST/AU).

Audified has announced the release of GK Amplification 2 LE, a free plugin and standalone application emulating the Gallien-Krueger amp and speaker. GK Amplification 2 LE is the light version of GK Amplification 2 Pro, and is perfect to enhance the bass sound in both DAW application or live performances. An important feature is that you can record dry bass sound, processed or even mix with the track player. Those experimenting with the sound will surely find it many other uses.

Let’s take a short break from plugins and move on to the guys from MusicRadar with their 280 free analogue circuit samples. You can add some character to your productions with these outboard-processed sounds, divided into three tempo-themed folders, each of which containing drum, percussion and instrument sounds. The download size is 296MB compressed as ZIP.

After several months without posting anything, Samplelock returns with a gift. Crt_Dig_Vol 1 is a free collection of 2 sets of samples (kits) for NI Battery 4, carefully selected for your hip-hop productions. You don’t have Battery? No problem, just download the pack and use the samples (74) within FPC (download size 42MB). You will find mainly instrument shots such as pianos, orchestral shots, vocals, brasses, strings and more. There is a demo on Soundcloud, showcasing all the sounds:

Last week Prime Loops “warned” us that their Kickstart 2016 sale will end on January 7th. But it seems that the promotion is a success, so Prime Loops give a chance to those who haven’t got to do their shopping at the beginning of the year, offering more than 250 titles with 50% off… until January 15th. The sale covers sample packs, MIDI files and preset banks from labels such as Prime Loops, Total Samples, Future Koncept, etc.

VST4Free sampled a Roland SH-101 bass patch, then turned the recorded samples into a SH-it. Yep, SH-it Bass is a ROMpler featuring only a bass sound- 25 notes tuned and recorded from 3 layers for a total of 55 samples. But that does not mean there’s no room for customizations: just mix between the main oscillator, the sub oscillator and the noise generator. The monophonic bass instrument is available for Windows and Mac OSX (32-/64-bit/VST/AU). See what this SH-it’s about in the video below:

Moving on to Highlife Samples, besides their EDM For All and Energy Progressive House commercial sample packs, they have released Mini Project of Progressive Melodic House free pack. It contains MIDI files, presets for Spire softsynth, and a project file for Ableton.

In the end, TBProAudio has announced the release of sTilt, a free linear phase filter plugin for both Windows and Mac OSX. sTilt is a linear phase filter which tilts the audio spectrum around a given center frequency. Its main features are adjustable slope from -6dB/Oct to +6dB/Oct, switchable clip protection, and sample exact A/B comparison.
