    Freeware Round-up #2: Sylenth1 gets tropical

As promised, here we are at the second issue of our Sunday’s freeware round-up, where I point out some items I (intentionally) missed during the week. So let’s dive into the subject.

But at first, I’ll tease you a little with an announcement for the well-known and sometimes hated MFreeEffectsBundle – a set of free audio effects, in essence limited/stripped down versions of commercial plugins, in this case MTotalBundle of MeldaProduction. The news consist of 9.15 update which adds some improvements here, fixes something there, and so on. MMorph morphing plugin is added, but in the commercial bundle. If you can overlook the “scandalous” (!) exe installer for MFreeEffectsBundle, you might be able to get to some cool plugins you can use daily.

Ahhh, Sylenth1…, the mother of aspiring and established producers. It gave birth to a music phenomenon, besides its creative valences, creating a true Internet folklore. We can talk endlessly about this divine creation, but today we focus only on new presets. So hubristic producers are invited to leave the room…

This is what I call a shiny cover

Is never too late to make tropical house, so Ryan Thompson from Out Of Your Shell Sound has released a free Sylenth1 soundbank based around tropic, chill out, and melodic; but it can be used really for whatever styles.

Tropical Beach Presets contains 124 presets and 10 bonus leads, everything you need from basses, plucks, pads, and FX. Perfect to warm up your production skills in this cruel winter. You will have plenty of time to prepare your 2016 summer hit. In case you have not figured out where to click to download it, I tell you clearly and friendly – download Tropical Beach Presets here. But there’s a catch! This tropical soundbank is available for free only for a limited time, until February. After that, it will be commercially released on Beatport.

This week, HY-Plugins has released HY-Lofi, a free bitcrusher/bit quantization/lo-fi effect plugin for Windows (32/64-bit VST). Besides these, it can act like a waveshaper and filter. HY-Lofi sports four modules: three effect processors in series (quantizer, drive, and filter) linked to an output volume. You may like it, especially that adds some serious harshness and air to the sound.

    Audio demo of HY-Lofi:

Synthmagic has informed his friends on KVR forums about a new sample library (Kontakt & WAV) created from a Pearl Drum-X analog programmable electronic drum synth module (triggered using RX11), Yamaha RX11, Philips Videopac video game, Trax synth, consumer cassette deck and other random bits of gear. I am totally lost, so I will let Synthmagic explain in his own synth-geeky words: “It’s a random mixture of drums, lo-fi bleeps from a Videopac game, some minibrute and Trax drum sounds etc recorded through a creaky old Alice 828 desk”. The forum post with download link is here. Enjoy!

Audio demo of Pearl Drum-X & co sample pack:

Behold, we arrived at the end of the article, but before I leave you to swear that I ruined your Sunday dinner with these temptations, I will drop one more: 3BT0 by Sir Galaxy. 3BT0 is a Roland TB-303 bass set programmed for the Elektron Octatrack, including over 50 loops programmed as slices across 2 banks (32 patterns). The download size is 17.5MB, and size on disk is 48MB. It is suitable for acid bass music, techno, house etc.

    Ta-ta for now![/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
