Cinesamples has announced the release of Jerry’s Pianos, a free Kontakt instrument featuring two pianos playing tutti/unison at the Sony Scoring Stage.
The pianos were placed in deep orchestral position on the violin side slightly wider than the French Horn section. Jerry’s Pianos is concentrating on the lower range, with sustains and staccatos from both Steinway grand pianos. Therefore, this instrument is very useful in genres like dark hip hop and cinematic, being perfect for scores full of tension and vibrant.
Jerry’s Pianos uses a very basic microphone set up consisting of a Decca Tree, a pair of wide mics, and a close mic on each piano. Also, there are two mixes: a concert position mix – where the pianos appear exactly as they were placed on the Sony stage, and a wide stereo mix, with the close mics panned hard left and right.
The instrument works with Kontakt full v5.3.1 or higher (free Kontakt Player is not supported). Download size is 522MB. In order to download it, a valid email address is required.
