BalanceMastering has released Free Teufelsberg NSA listening tower impulse responses, a free collection of IR patches that can be loaded in any convolution plugin, including FL Convolver.
We’ve recorded the impulse responses with great care and mastered them to be useful in a wide variety of situations. There are six (quite different) variations to experiment with and apply to your source audio.
Finding an opportunity to approach the towers and record the impulses was tough, not to mention having to climb and squeeze through a tiny gap to reach the uppermost tower, so we hope you enjoy incorporating a piece of Cold War history into your music and audio productions.
The IRs were recorded at Teufelsberg tower in Berlin, formerly run by the American and British military (during the Cold War), the main objective being to intercept and process any Soviet and Eastern Bloc communications.
This full collection has the converted 44.1, 48, 88.2 and original 96kHz sample rates each at 16 and 24 bit depths versions for your convenience. The download size is 83.7MB compressed; there are available another three alternate download links.
