COMPETITION CLOSED, PLEASE SEE WINNERS AT THE BOTTOM OF PAGE.
For this competition, FLStudioMusic has teamed up with the guys at Mode Audio– a sample label offering a cool selection of quality audio packs, sample and loops, soft synth presets, field recordings and much more.
Their portfolio consists of sample collections for deep house, hip hop, R&B, dubstep, dance etc, soundbanks for popular synths like Massive, FM8 and Kong and a wide palette of high quality field recordings.
One of their latest release is Power Tools, an EDM collection featuring 330 one shot drum samples with their corresponding drum kit sampler patches and channel strips for further processing.
Punching and smashing its way from our studio to your speakers, this collection of 330 thunderously weighty drum sounds has been sculpted and engineered with studious precision and attention to detail. Every single parameter of every audio processor applied has been tweaked to perfection, ramping up the propulsive impact for maximum effect – the snares slam; the kick crush; the hi hats sizzle; the claps slice and the percussion just pops out of the speaker cones.
Put simply, these drum samples sound huge – no messing about with little taps and percussive plops, every single one of these sounds is big, bold and waiting to start hammering out an infectious groove in your next track. From deep, devastating 808-style drum machine kicks to phat, pumping snares and beyond, there’s enough in this pack to satisfy the darkest wishes of Trap, Dubstep, EDM, Hip Hop, Beats, D&B and House producers alike.
The FL Studio edition of Power Tools comes packed as a generous collection of 330 WAV drum samples, 30 DirectWave patches (+ 2 DirectWave banks) and 5 FL mixer presets. Basically, you’ll have all the tools for learning how to create a proper drum track in FL Studio- the given samples in both WAV and DirectWave formats and the FL Studio mixer preset to process to whole channel in a professional way.
The DirectWave patches come as a handy bonus, simply load your preferred kit, and you’ll have instant access to samples. Each DirectWave drum kit has its own style, the samples aren’t simply dropped and split for the sake of diversity.
Also the mixer track state files come in 5 flavours: 80s Disco for fun, A Little Rain meaning depth and room, Rainbow Room for transition and diversity, Thickener– for those who prefer fat but healthy (?!) and the Warm Me Up mood which simply makes the overall sound warmer and well balanced.
The sound of the samples is rich, full and it has that vintage feel which personally I love. The feel comes from sound processing, all sounds being recorded by professionals. Power Tools is provided in high quality 24 bit WAV format.
The sample library contains:
- 70 Kick Samples (long and short)
- 50 Snare Samples
- 30 Clap Samples
- 60 Hi Hat Samples (open, mid-open and closed)
- 40 Percussion Samples (toms, rims, shakers and more)
- 80 Tuned Kicks
All samples are very usable, I find them perfect for all modern music genres, especially dubstep, trap, neo funk, jungle, hardstyle or even pop. All the sounds are royalty free, so once you purchase them, you can use them in your music without any restrictions.
Power Tools sample pack is a great tool not only for beginners, but also for those in search for an usable drum kit. The samples are carefully recorded and selected and overall, the cost is fair. The drum kit sampler patches and channel strips are the perfect addition, giving you the chance to understand and experiment.
