Sennheiser has released DrumMic’a!, a free Kontakt library featuring 8 GB of live recorded drum beats and intended to compare different mics and positions on a drumset.
DrumMic’a is a library for Native Instrument’s Kontakt (the free Kontakt Player will be supplied). It comprises a total of nearly 13,000 individual samples in 24-bit quality and has 8 GB+ on the hard disk.
DrumMic’a contains a library of over 1,300 MIDI grooves in different styles. They range from pop and rock to funk, hip hop and disco to jazz, Latin, blues and country. There are several to almost any stylistic grooves in different intensities and instrumentation (eg hi-hat or ride) and some intros, endings and fills. Files can be dragged and dropped into the DAW and assembled there into a song.
About 1370 authentic style beats were performed by a real live professional drummer. 15 Sennheiser and Neumann microphones were used, housed in a real, professional studio. The special thing- DrumMic’a! can be used in almost any digital audio workstation and thus also for your own productions. And best part, Sennheiser and Neumann offer the software under a freeware license, the use is unlimited after entering a free registration code!
Demo:
This library is free for Sennheiser’s registered members, you’ll receive a code. Registration is free. And again, you’ll have to use a translator, the site is in German…
